Well, we are working on the renovations to the back hallway and my new office. Just need to finish one wall in the office and then stain all the new wood. Then maybe new flooring throughout the office and the hallway.
My office used to be a spare bedroom and the hallway back there was very narrow. We made it wider by about 4 inches...which meant taking out a wall and rebuilding it. Doyle also had to go down into the crawl space underneath and re-build the braces holding up the floor as it was sagging.
Oops...forgot that the new closet is not done yet (inside) but that won't take long. The closet used to open up around the 2nd stair going to the basement...we have closed off the old opening and have made a nice new wider door. We are going to get a set of folding wooden doors for there.
The shelf in the office wall was the last thing Doyle's dad built for us. He was a great craftsman when it came to building stuff from wood. he was also a great welder and mechanic - building my dad's flatdeck trailer for him that we now use for hauling hay.
here are some before pics.
