A proud parent - May 5

As well as being extremely proud of Bailey and her team, I also have to say that my two older kids were great this weekend too. They got along extremely well, did lots together, were there for Bailey when she would get down on herself and didn't want to be cheered up by anyone.

Getting along for siblings can be really hard...but finding neat things to play with helps. In the bowling alley (like in many places) there are the coin machines where you can get stickers, toys, candies. Well, these two found one that dispences FAKE FACIAL HAIR. so they stuck some money in and got an eyebrow (yes just one) and sideburns. And boy did they have fun!!!

They did a few things on their own. One of which was going to Canada's Wonderland (it is a huge amusement park). While there, they played "ring toss" (carnival game) and Melissa won a FIVE FOOT TALL GORILLA (that was also 5 feet around). She brought it back to the hotel, contacted the airline to see what it would cost to bring home and was told "good luck getting it on a plane at all". So, on her own, she went to the front desk at the hotel and got the address to the Children's Hospital and took it there and donated it. She left them her name and address and they said they would let her know who received it.

The other thing they did was very sentimental. They went shopping for my Mother's Day present. After asking me a bunch of questions, they left. Came back, handed me a tiny gold bag. I opened it and inside was a metal ring with the word "Lucky" engraved on it. I started to shake and then cried. Then Melissa cried. The coach turned around and saw me, and went "what the heck...you okay". I showed him the ring and told him the story. He shook his head at Melissa and said "NOW???" And then laughed at her when she sputtered back at him (they have known each other for 8 years). The other moms that were there also cried.

I guess you can say they are both growing up!!!
