Xpu-Ha - Jan 9

After seeing the ruins at Tulum, we got back on tour bus and headed to another "Palace" owned resort called Xpu-Ha (pronounced Spu-Ha).

When we arrived, we were taken on a short walking tour through the lobby (which had a really neat thing hanging from the roof)

, down through some trails (with some neat statues along them)

and the zoo where they have:

Spider Monkeys:

Crocodiles - adults:

and "nine year old babies":

Mexican wild cats:

Flamingos:

Turtles:

And some other raccoon type animals that I couldn't get a picture of.

We had a great lunch at the restaurant - it was buffet style - which is always good with growing children. We then headed to the pool.

Bailey and I stayed at the pool, which Doyle and Shayne headed off to do some snorkeling in the fresh water pools. We had been told that there was a possibility of seeing some great fish...but didn't hold out any hope of seeing anything we hadn't before. I sure wish I had gone when the guys got back though...they saw a MANITEE. Shayne said it was massive.

Shayne figured out the fastest way into the pool - these pools were COLD compared to the ones at our resort and took some getting used to.

I played some more with my camera and got these pics of the resort and some of the flowers that were growing along the fence by the pool.
