We went to our own resort timeshare deal to hear what all was new since we had been here in 2007. Turns out there is lots going on. Construction has started on a couple new resorts (Maui for one)...and two are just opening (Cabo San Lucas and Argentina). They have also brought in a new segment to their ownership - called "The Bliss". These are a more modern looking room and are in between the Mayan Palace segment and The Grand Mayan segment.
They have also associated themselves with the Wyndham group of marketing which brings in a bunch of new options.
We listened very carefully to the presentation and decided that it would be a good fit for us right now so we upgraded to becoming Grand Mayan members. The rooms are a little nicer - two kingsized beds, juccuzi tubs in both rooms, larger balconies with furniture on them, nicer tv's, bigger bathrooms, larger kitchen...and pools designated just for Grand Mayan members.
A couple of the resorts are also only for Grand Mayan members - so that was a good thing to get into as well.
While we have downsized the number of weeks we can go we have upgraded our membership options. As well, the other companies - Wyndham and HSI - will allow us a greater number of options for vacationing. We are very excited.
The rest of the day was spent watching our "water rats" play in pool. These two are very different from Melissa, in that even though they get along for short periods of time, neither one of them is willing to go off and find someone their own age to hang around with. So I usually end up referreeing LOTS.
I played with my camera a little bit and got a couple really cool pictures of Shayne playing in the pool.
