Gunner attended his first show of the season yesterday. It was a "ranch cutting". Not NCHA affiliated. It is where the trainers can take their horses to start tuning them up for this year's show season. Jason is going to use these as "training shows" for Gunner as he can discipline while showing. Gunner, last year, had a bit of a problem staying "focused" on the job at hand...wanted to look and talk to the girls instead of focus on the cows all the time.
Jason said Gunner marked a 66 and was extremely focused this time. Much more mature than last fall. He came in 4th out of 12 horses...one out of the money. So YIPPEE!!! His next show is Valentine's Day.
Here's hoping that Gunner has turned a corner and will be a good boy this year...and make me some money!!!
