Cruise prep almost complete

Well, we are almost ready to go.

Everything has been ordered, received, altered and, as of today, packed. At least for me. I bought 4 new dresses from ebay. They arrived and are fantastic. Went shopping and managed to find 2 pairs of really nice shoes that actually fit my funky sized feet. And the jewelry shopping was done yesterday with great success.

The only thing I may have to do is find another bathing suit - not sure whether I will do that before we leave or while in one of those small island stops.

Doyle has to pack and get a couple pairs of pants shortened. He also has to buy a pair of dress shoes before we go.

We are counting the weeks now - 3 to go!!! I can hardly wait!!! I am sure you will all be inundated with pics from both Paige and myself of our fun times in the sun.

Maggie and Max

We have a new family member. His name is Max. He is a 9 week old Great Pyrenees. Eventually he will be Maggie's boyfriend. For now he is just her new playmate and student.

He is currently living in the barn until we get a chance to do a couple of his shots. He had the first yesterday so hopefully we will be able to let him out at night in another month or so. We do let him out to play with Maggie during the day when we can monitor him - and ensure that he says in the yard.

He is absolutely adorable!!!

Not a baby anymore

Here are a couple shots of Molson that show that he is leaving babyhood behind. It will be sooo much fun to get him broke and start riding him. I sure hope he has the temperment of his sire and siblings behind him more so than his temperamental dam. LOL

Black and orange - two of my favorite colors

Sonny and Molson - who'd have thought they would be such good friends...and that Molson at a very young 17 months old would be brave enough to play hard with Sonny.

But play they did. And very nicely despite the look of the pics.

And look at the speed that they run together.

This last picture could be on a calendar. As it is...it is the desktop background on Doyle's work computer.

Carrie

Hyper Hyde

Hyde was a little calmer than Gunner is his turnouts but would go ninety miles per hour for the first 2 minutes.

He is definately still curious about different things - like Melissa sitting on the fence.

Gunner's vacation

Gunner has become such a personable young man. His time at Dale's was very good for him in that he sure learned that liking people is a good thing.

He sure has turned into a nice looking young colt. Not that you can see much of him in his bright blue blanket.

He played and played hard when he had his turnouts at home.

Wow - 2008 is off and running and I am already behind

Hi all...

I can't believe January is half over and I have yet to post.

This winter is going by very fast. We have been extremely busy with work, family, the holiday season and the horses.

Now where to start???

1. Work - it is still going really well. We are very busy. We are getting in around 50 new employees a day - around 200 a week or more. So that is increasing the work load on us girls. We have been working a steady 60 hr work week with every 3rd weekend off...and we alternate them. Makes for a very nice paycheque but by the end of your third week - you tend to get a little giddy. LOL

2. Family - The kids are all doing well. Report cards came home and were very encouraging - especially considering I am not checking it as much as I know I should. Bailey and Shayne are still bowling on Wednesdays and enjoying it. Shayne tried out for the Alberta Winter Games team but didn't make it. He has one more shot in 2 years. Melissa has a new job...she is working at the WalMart in Vegreville on nights. She is enjoying it for the most part, and I am sure will even more once she gets paid.

3. The holiday season - was almost long enough. Doyle and I both started our vacation on Dec. 20 and went back to work on Jan 2. We had both our families here for Christmas dinner...on different days. I can't believe I did that to myself - two entire turkey dinners!!! I think I was a little crazy. The holidays were great. Everyone got what they wanted. My big gift was a new camera which I just love. Just now have to find more time to play with it.

4. Horses - well...that is another big story. We had Hyde and Gunner home with us for the month of December. We had some things come up with schedules etc. and it just didn't work out to get them back to Dale. They are now with a new trainer closer to home and things seems to be going good so far. Will post more about this development in the months to come.

All the others are doing really well. Lucky is happy in her blanket and getting her senior feed every day. Dolly is now her pasture pal - and is due to have her foal at the end of March. We are still trying to sell off a few of the horses that don't fit the new "cutting program".

I will post pics of everyone separately.
